Sandusky, Ohio

Sandusky, Ohio is my home town. It is on the shores of Lake Erie in northern Ohio. Sandusky's claim to fame is the amusement park, Cedar Point. Cedar Point holds the record for the number of roller coasters and the number of rides in one amusement park. People travel from all over the country and the world to visit Cedar Point. I remember when Cedar Point's first roller coaster, the Blue Streak, was built. I was a teenager. It was named for the Sandusky High School sports teams, the Sandusky Blue Streaks. I had a summer job at Cedar Point one summer. I was in the Sandusky High School band and we had "Dixieland" jazz bands that walked the midway and played songs. I played clarinet. We also had a trumpet, trombone, tuba, and drum. It was a lot of fun. Besides, we got into the park for free and could ride the Blue Streak as often as we wanted. |
